Snapshot - WLCSC Reopening Plan
Dear WLCSC Families,
Welcome to the 2020/21 School Year. Since the start of school, many things have been happening. I would like to provide you with a brief update regarding the opening of school.
As of September 1, 2020, there are 1,423 students attending school onsite and 895 students attending school online. Per the request of many parents, all eLearning and all onsite instruction are being taught by WLCSC teachers. I requested authorization from the WLCSC School Board to extend 79 teacher contracts and to hire additional teaching staff to accomplish this. With the assistance of WLCSC teachers, administrators, guidance counselors and technology staff, WLCSC has been able to provide all eLearning instruction and all onsite instruction without using an outside vendor. Also, all advanced placement and honors classes at West Lafayette High School are being taught by WLCSC teachers.

What is eLearning?
Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) established eLearning days in 2011 for organizational purposes and expanded the program to include inclement weather days in 2014 as a response to schools that had the ability to provide high-quality instruction digitally.
For up to date information on how you can stay safe during the outbreak, please visit the CDC website here: CDC COVID-19
IDOE has created this Face Coverings English language guidance and this Spanish language guidance for schools to share with families. This guidance provides information on acclimating students to wearing face coverings and guidance regarding face-covering maintenance.
